SBDC Success Story: Ridgely Home Services, LLC

Ridgely Home Services is a versatile, Pittsburgh-based home improvement and property preservation business offering a wide range of services. Their expertise includes flooring, cabinet and closet installation, drywall work, and more. Additionally, they provide turnover services such as move-in/out cleaning, full trash removal, building maintenance, foreclosure inspections, and securing services, among others.

Beyond their impressive range of offerings, Ridgely Home Services is also a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). The business is black-owned, women-owned, and deeply committed to changing the community.

Tamaira Ridgely co-founded Ridgely Home Services with her husband in April of 2019. Both Pittsburgh natives, they saw a need for quality home improvement services in the area. A core part of their mission is to bring home improvement resources to low-income families and work to revitalize their community.

The University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center (SBDC) began working with Tamaira over four years ago. Bringing ambition, an open mind, and strong dedication, Tamaira worked with the Pitt SBDC to develop her business plan, financial projections, capability statement, digital presence, and overall business strategy. Through hard work and dedication, she established an excellent website and a solid business framework.

Tamaira also participated in the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence‘s Community Power to Prosper program, an educational series designed for underserved small business owners focused on managing long-term growth and success. She actively applied the skills gained from this valuable experience to strengthen her business.

With support from the Pitt SBDC, Tamaira recently secured a loan from the Neighborhood Community Development Fund. This achievement opens up exciting expansion possibilities for the company. The combination of Tamaira’s efforts and the Pitt SBDC team’s support has led to undeniable success for Ridgely Home Services. The business hopes to grow even more over the next few years, and the SBDC looks forward to assisting Tamaira and her team through continued success.
